Chris Brown faces a possible jail sentence after he was arrested and charged with felony assault yesterday. The controversial 24-year-old was involved in a fight outside a luxury hotel in Washington D.C. – just a few hundred yards from the White House. An adult male is currently in hospital following the attack which took place at 4:25am on Sunday morning.
The victim apparently has a broken nose and may need surgery as early as tomorrow morning, according to TMZ.
It’s currently unknown whether the unidentified victim was taken to hospital by ambulance or another vehicle.
District of Columbia police spokesman Paul Metcalf confirmed Brown was arrested and charged with felony assault Sunday.
Metcalf adds 35-year-old Chris Hollosy – the star’s bodyguard – was also arrested on felony assault charges after the incident.
The pair are being held in police custody until Monday. We have contacted a representative for comment.
Earlier in the night, Brown had been hosting a party at the nearby Park and 14th nightclub.
The incident could be grounds for violating his probation for attacking Rihanna in 2009.
This means the worst case scenario for Brown would be a prison sentence of up to four years.
Brown was recently given 1,000 hours of community service for apparently faking the 180 hours he was originally given as punishment.
He is due back in a Los Angeles court on November 20 to update a judge on his probation.(mirror)
